A Note About the Phoenix Goddess Temple

As Sensual Seattle is linked from the Phoenix Goddess Temple web site we want to express our opinions and concerns about what is occurring there.

In our teaching of Tantra and Reiki Sensual Seattle affirms that our experience is an expression of the source of the life energy. This life energy, and our awareness of it in ourselves and others, is at the core of the way we teach and practice both Tantra and Reiki.

To be more precise, what we are as living beings is a generator of the life energy, called Chi, Reiki, or Kundalini. There is only one life energy that has different ways of expression through the living being.

The body itself is one of these expressions, when we focus on and identify only with this material form we call a body, conflict and problems abound.

The next "level" of expression of this energy is our behavior. The Hindu philosophy identifies at least seven major channels (called by them Chakras) that express that Chi energy as language, behavior, thought, and even feelings and emotions.

The next "level" of the expression of the life energy is our experience. Now here is where it gets tricky. This experience is a merging of the life energy expression of many different people, yourself included. It is a combined "soup" of energy that we experience as our life. If we are fighting this experience, or if we feel ourselves a victim of it, or if we think that experience is something we partake of, or any other scenario, we are deluded and living in an illusion.

What does this mean in terms of the events in Phoenix? It means that Tracy Elise and the others involved in the arrests and charges stemming from the temple activities are actually cooperating with the police and justice system on a level that is the undercurrent of all the arrests, hearings, court appearances, and plea bargains.

The only "winning" that will ensue is bringing this cooperation into the open and everyone beginning to pool their efforts to reach a solution that benefits all. The best thing they can do is realize that the law enforcement and judicial system have ALL of our best interests in mind, that is their job. Fighting them may or may not yield some minor successes, but in the long run fighting does not promote the insight and understandings we could otherwise gain form Tantra and a Tantric lifestyle.

There is no "winning" when we do not acknowledge this reality, or when we fight our experience in any way.
